Disney Fails

You know when you’re ridiculously tired but you can’t sleep because your mind won’t stop for breath? Literally me, every night! Well, I was lying in bed a few nights ago, as you do, when suddenly something popped into my mind that really really really annoyed me.

In ‘The Little Mermaid’, how does Ursula paint her nails underwater?

We all know the story of The Little Mermaid with the teenage mermaid princess who is unhappy with her life underwater and longs to be above the ocean to experience human life. Ursula, the sea witch who has painted red/purple/black nails, makes a deal with Ariel that in exchange for her voice, she will transform her into a human for three days in which she must get a kiss from Eric (the rather handsome prince). If she fails to do so, she will transform back into a mermaid. Anywaaaaaaay, to cut a long story short (and to avoid revealing spoilers to anyone who hasn’t watched it), Ursula is a nasty witch WHO HAS PAINTED NAILS.

Okay, so it is obvious from the picture above that Ursula has red painted nails, right?! Now, I’m fairly certain you can’t paint your nails underwater…

I really started to stress over the idea of Ursula, the witch, being able to paint her nails underwater. I know, how pathetic of me. I browsed and I scrolled through Google looking for answers and it turns out, no one has an answer and I need answers. So I took to Twitter and I tweeted the three biggest Disney fans I could think of: Carrie Hope FletcherGary C and Pete Bucknall.

Carrie Hope Fletcher tweeted me back. Yes, she tweeted me back. Let’s take a moment for that to sink in… My actual idol tweeted back to my ridiculous question. After hyperventilating for approximately ten minutes, I read her reply: “She’s a witch! Anything is possible! Xxx”.

Gary C also tweeted me back saying “mind blown!”. He also included my question in his latest video in which he said “It’s Disney. It doesn’t have to make sense!”

Pete Bucknall never replied back, boohoo!

Anyway, whilst those are perfectly logical answers that provide a legit answer to my question, my mind is still not settled and I don’t know why. Does she grow painted nails? Is it the nail varnish that’s magic?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE (I BEG YOU, PLEASE) comment with your thoughts and theories. I would LOVE to hear them.
